Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice
Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice was founded in the 1980s, when community members came together to counter the Cold War threat of nuclear war and escalating arms buildup. Since then, our mission for peace and nonviolence has expanded to embrace many connected social and political issues.
CCPJ, along with many local and national movements, increasingly understands the link between war and injustice.
Together and in concert with many others we will face the historical forces swirling around us. This is why CCPJ was formed.
Peace will come from millions of tiny seemingly inconsequential actions. If you want to have peace, you live peace.
