FREE Hazardous Waste Collection April 25-26

Dispose of your hazardous household waste for FREE on April 25 & 26 at the Ivy Solid Waste & Recycling Center located at 4576 Dick Woods Road, Charlottesville, VA. Open to all Albemarle, Charlottesville, and Scottsville residents. Stop by between 9 AM and 3 PM. Collected items include paints, stains, cleaners, pesticides, batteries, fluorescent lights, car fluids, fuels, and more! Please no commercial participation.

Please note that some old electronic equipment may be of value. Consider looking up your item on ebay and then check the “sold” item info for it. The “sold item link” is available near the bottom of the left hand column on ebay. Some old higher quality audio, computer, vintage radio and ham radio equipment in particular may be worth a check. Even old transistor radios and early electronic calculators may have notable value. The best recycling can be the re-use of still servicable items and recycling them into collectors hands as well!
