Mike & Murphy Feature Friday Special
Due to this weeks weather, this weeks Mike & Murphy show will be a repeat of “Artists From the Interstate 95 Corridor”. We’ll be featuring artists who come from towns and cities along I-95 in this classic M&M show.
Next Weeks Show:
The Mike & Murphy Feature Friday Special this week will be “BANNED!” It will be all about songs that were banned by a few to many radio stations in the US to ones that were banned by the BBC in the UK.
Until the 1970s, the British Broadcasting Company, the state owned broadcaster, was the only legal radio operator in Britain. They did not play modern pop or rock music on any of their channels though until about 1970. There were pirate broadcasters operating off shore in the UK for a time in the mid to late 60s and Radio Luxembourg that covered much of the UK but once the UK cracked down on the pirates and the BBC added a pop music channel, the the leader in the Kingdom.
The One thing is for sure and that is that M&M will always have two great hours of themed oldies and the stories behind them every week!
The show airs Friday and Sunday from 10 to 12 noon on 97.9 The WREN. Past episodes are available under the “Podcast” on the top menu link or here.
Don’t forget to listen to Dr. J’s Saturday Night Themer show every Saturday night from 10 to Midnight here on The WREN! If you like Mike & Murphy, you’ll love her show, too!
